About the Peaceful Painting Club
OUR MISSION
The Peaceful Painting Club offers a unique blend of nature-inspired painting, sound healing, mindfulness, wellness practices, and The Artist’s Way cohorts in a supportive space to help you unwind, explore creativity, and prioritize your well-being.
We’re here to help you let go of stress, anxiety, and perfectionism through simple, calming, and fun nature-inspired art and The Artist’s Way cohorts from Julia Cameron’s legendary book.
Our laid-back workshops mix watercolor and mixed media with mindfulness, so you can relax, get creative, and feel good. Our The Artist’s Way cohort and community blend imperfect action, micro habits, self-discovery, and art into a holistic experience.
No pressure, no perfection—just a peaceful way to unwind and tap back into your creative side. Whether you're new to art or you've been painting for years, our classes make it easy to slow down, enjoy the process, and get out of your own way.
Our mindful art journaling studio and The Artist’s Way cohorts are welcoming, judgment-free spaces designed for people like you, who may be dealing with stress, burnout, anxiety, grief, chronic illness, or a new chapter in life. Maybe you’re trying to find yourself and rediscover your creativity. Whatever your story is - you belong here.
Through our accessible workshops and resources - offered online and in-person - we’ll show you how to use botanical and mother nature-inspired art as a tool for meditation, mindfulness, self-expression, and healing.
Together, we’ll help you transform constant worry, stress, and distractions into peace and presence to help you create balance in your life. You’ll get creative and find calm with a compassionate mindful art teacher and kind community.
Peaceful Painting Pro-Tip
Scientific studies show that creative activities like painting activate your brain’s relaxation response, reducing stress and promoting mindfulness.
It’s nice to meet you.
MEET OUR FOUNDER, KATIE.
Katie Goodling, founder of the Peaceful Painting Club, is an award-winning teacher whose personal journey through burnout, anxiety, autoimmune illness, and loss fueled her passion for therapeutic creativity.
After leaving a high-pressure marketing leadership career due to health challenges, Katie found solace and strength at her art table.
Her transformative experience with combining mindfulness, meditation, self-care, music, mother nature, and art making drives her to share these powerful tools with others facing similar struggles, helping them find healing and joy through creativity.
Katie lives in Pennsylvania with her husband Kevin and beloved senior rescue dog, Mozzie. In addition to operating the Peaceful Painting Club and leading The Artist’s Way cohorts, she’s a university Professor and marketing consultant. She loves painting, writing, reading, traveling, music, and theatre.
The Peaceful Painter’s Promise
Becoming a Peaceful Painter is about more than making art—it’s about embracing a new way of seeing, living, and creating. Here are the core beliefs that define our journey:
-
We let go of the need for perfect outcomes and embrace the joy and calm of simply creating.
-
In a fast-paced, always-connected chaotic world, we paint to reconnect with stillness and invite peace into our lives through our painting practice.
-
Mother Nature is our muse, grounding us and guiding our creativity with her organic forms, colors, and calming patterns.
-
Even in our busy lives, we carve out time for art and self-care, understanding that small, mindful moments add up to lasting change.
-
Guided by our inner whispers, we trust our instincts and create art that feels natural, fluid, and true to us.
-
Our painting practice is more than art—it’s a form of meditation, self-care, and healing that soothes stress and restores balance in our lives and bodies.
-
We don’t force our creativity. Instead, we find flow by allowing it to come naturally, trusting that inspiration will come when the mind is quiet.
-
Every painting session is an opportunity to reconnect with who we truly are, deepening our understanding of ourselves through the creative process.
-
Music often guides our brushstrokes, creating a sensory connection that helps us find peace in both the sound and the movement, allowing creativity and emotions to flow freely.
-
Just like the plants we paint, we embrace the idea of blooming in our own time, in our own way, and finding beauty in every stage of growth.
